Analog Photography

I would like to learn how to take pictures of "Analog Photography" because I want to learn how to focus in one the model and blur everything in the back or the things in front of it to make the model look better and stand out, and if its a group family I want it to just focus in the family and blur the surrounding. I just want to take and ordinary picture that can be just normal to something that looks amazing with everything the same except the things that don't belong.
