Fashion Photography Ethics

1. List the changes that were made to the model's face in the computer. (Look carefully)
They made the models lips bigger, her neck longer, her face more skinny, and wider eyes.
2. Is it ethically acceptable to change a person's appearance like this in a photo? Why or why not?
I would say no
3. Are there circumstances in which it would be more ethically wrong to do this type of manipulation?
Because that's not how she really looks like and they make others think it is so they can get more people to buy there product.
4. What types of changes are OK, and what aren't?
Like in photojournalism, making a background blurry or just focusing in something it is okay. Changing the way people look isn't.
5. Explain what you think the differences are between fashion photography and photojournalism.
In fashion photography they do alot of editing like changing the models face making her skin/face look better. Photojournalism your just leaving the photo how it is but just making little differences.
6. What relationship does each type of photography have to reality, and how does this affect the ethical practice of each? They both change how something actually looks like, in photojournalism somethings are blurry or brighter but in person they might not and in fashion they make things look better.

Lyto Warm-Up

1. What did you see happen when you clicked on the photo?
The photo focused on one this and the background got more blurry.
2. How does this new camera work?
it used the Aperture because the background is getting blurry.
3. What do you think a photographer would have to know about to take this kind of photo (remember its a point-and-shoot, so its full manual mode, what do you need to know about)
He would need to know how to use the ISO ,High shutter speed,Slow shutter speed, and the Aperture 4. Is it worth the money?
I think it is worth money because it looks cool when it focus just on one thing and the rest is blurry.

Self Portrait and Portraits Part II

Self Portrait and Portraits Part II

Favorite 3 tips:

1.)If you’re taking photos in a studio, use a mannequin for light testing: Much easier than guesstimating!
2.)One way is to frame an interesting composition and then, with your compact camera mounted on a tripod or another means of support, use the self-timer (if your camera has one) to trip the shutter after you get into position in front of the lens.
3.)Have fun with it. Be sexy. Be yourself. Be awesome. Be different. Be creative. Whatever you do, have fun with it. That’s part of the point, after all.

 Environmental portrait
I picked this photo because I like the way the light hits it and how you can see the string shred.
I picked this photo because I like how the background looks like and it gives it good light.

Photography self portrait
I picked this picture because It loos like he is having fun with it and that's what your supposed to do.
I picked this photo you can tell she was being creative.

Casual portrait

I picked this photo because the flowers makes it look better.I like how the sky looks.
I picked this photo because the way they took the pictures. I like how the sunlight hits them and the grass.

 Plans for "Portrait Assignment"

My plans for my portrait assignment is that i would use Environmental Portrait or Casual Portrait. I still don't know who I'm going to be shooting.I will like too shoot them outside of the school maybe like in the courtyard just some were outside of the school.I will testing witch ISO will look good so It can turn out good.I would also try to use Framing, Avoiding Mergers, and Simplicity.

It will give you information that the photo wont give you by just looking at it.

Image #5 "He was telling his dad his last goodbyes before he left to the army.He wasn't ready to say goodbye but he had to."

Aperture, Shutter Speed, ISO - how do they all work?

f2.8

f16
1. What part of the body should we closely relate aperture?I would say the eye is closely related to aperture because it can also just focus on one thing and blur the back.
2. Finish this sentence - the smaller the Aperture f-number, the higher the Aperture f-number.
3. In your own words tell me how aperture impacts Depth of Field? The size of the the aperture makes a big impact on the photo, the smaller the aperture is the more blurry it gets.

1. If you were assigned to shoot at Blue and Gold night, which was earlier this month, what shutter speeds do you think you would have to shoot at the following events that night I would like you to answer the question for the following two situations:
High Shutter Speed
 Slow Shutter Speed
At the beginning while the sun is still partially up and the courtyard has reasonable light
a.) the dunking booth-Fast
b.) the food eating contest-Fast
c.) the rock climbing wall-Medium
d.) someone working at a booth-Slow
e.) the DJ/MC working at the middle of the circle-Slow
f.) the Diamonds performance.-Fast
Towards the end when there is no sun and has gotten dark enough that you can't see from one end of the courtyard to the other.
a.) the dunking booth-Slow
b.) the food eating contest-Slow
c.) the rock climbing wall-Medium
d.) someone working at a booth-Fast
e.) the DJ/MC working at the middle of the circle-Fast

 ISO 200
 ISO 3200

1. What are the advantages of shoot at a higher ISO at a sporting event like basketball or a night football game? When a Basketball game and Football game I would turn the ISO High
2. What suggestions did the author make about using a low ISO?When there is plenty of light you should always use the lowest ISO.

3. What suggestions did the author make about using a high ISO? Use high ISO when there is not enough light.

F4 looks better with 1/125, you cant see nothing in the background everything is blurry.
F5.6  looks better with 1/60, you can kinda start seeing the building in the background.
F8 looks better with 1/60, you are kinda starting to see the building in the background but it is still kinda blurry.
F11 looks better with 1/60, you are starting to see even better the building.
F16 looks better with 1/30, now you can actually tell there's a building in the background.
F22. looks better with 1/15, the couples don't look blurry as they do with the smaller shutter number and the background is clear.
